COMMISSIONERS OF SOUTHERN PLATTE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT August 30, 2001 The monthly meeting of the Commissioners of Southern Platte Fire Protection District was held Thursday, August 30, 2001, at Station 3, 10811 NW 45 Highway, Parkville. Mo. The meeting was called to order by President Nelson Hopper at 6:59 p.m. Present were Commissioners Hopper, Newburger, and Judd. Also present were Attorney Leslie Stewart Greene and Chief Richard Carrizzo. Minutes of the August 16, 2001, meeting that had been previously provided to the Commissioners were accepted upon, motion made, seconded, and passed after a change signifying that Commissioner Judd was Treasurer and Commissioner Newburger was Secretary. The Treasurer's Report was presented and handed out to the Commissioners and were accepted upon, motion made, seconded, and passed. The following Old Business was added to the agenda and presented at the meeting: 1. Station 1: Chief Carrizzo advised that Station 1 had no further leaks and recommended that DeGeorge and Associates be paid the remaining balance for their work as Construction Manager. Upon motion made and seconded, motion passed. The following New Business was presented at the meeting: 1. Tax Rate Hearing: Motion was made to set the general levy for the District at the rate of $.6946 per $100 of assessed valuation to produce approximately $1,570,084 to assist in funding the Year 2002 General Operating budget. Motion was seconded and passed. 2. Motion was made to set the debt service levy for the District at the rate of $.1107 per $100 of assessed valuation to produce approximately $250,132 to assist in funding the Year 2002 Bond Indebtedness budget of the District. Motion was seconded and passed. There being no further formal business to come before the meeting, the Board and Fire Chief moved the meeting to Station 4, 8795 N Highway for a tour at approximately 7:15 p.m. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. upon motion made, seconded, and passed.
