The monthly meeting of the Commissioners of Southern Platte Fire Protection District was held Thursday, August 16, 2001, at Fire Station 3, 10811 NW 45 Highway, Parkville. Mo.

The meeting was called to order by President Nelson Hopper at 7:05 p.m. Present were Commissioners Hopper, Newburger and Chief Richard Carrizzo. Also present were Capt. Steve Shaumeyer, Firefighter Kelly Wingert, and Timothy Dupin.

Minutes of the July 26, 2001, meeting that had been previously provided to the commissioners were accepted upon, motion made, seconded, and passed.

The following New Business was presented at the meeting:

1. Budget Work Session - Chief Carrizzo reviewed the proposed 2002 Budget, which included the CIP, with the Board of Directors.

There being no further new business, Commissioner Hopper asked to adjourn to Executive Session at 8:05 p.m. to discuss three personnel issues.

The regular meeting of the District reopened at 9:07 p.m. The Board, during Executive Session took two actions:

1) Based on the MARC Salary and Benefits Survey, a new pay grade was created that caused pay adjustments for two employees.
2) An adjustment was made to Chief Carrizzo's employment contract.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:55 p.m. upon motion made, seconded, and passed.
