Station #3 is located off 45 Highway (Tom Watson Parkway) on the scenic, Tom Watson’s National Golf Course.  Station #3 is a single company station.  There are 12 firefighters and three Battalion Chiefs for three shifts assigned to the station.  Minimum daily manning at this station is four personnel.  Each shift consists of one Captain, one Fire apparatus operator, and two firefighters.  This centralized station operates several pieces of emergency equipment including: Pumper 23, Ladder 23, Tanker 23, Car 25 (BC vehicle), Brush 23, and Boat 23.

The Station was constructed in1987.  At the time this station was staffed by all volunteer firefighters and housed the Emergency Communication Center for the District with paid emergency communications personnel.  This station was the first station built by the Fire District and served as the District Headquarters until 2001.  Station 4 now serves as headquarters.

In April of 1996, Southern Platte Fire Protection District hired the first paid crews to man Station 3.  In 1997, Station #3 was expanded to house additional paid personnel. The expansion included an eight-person bunkroom, kitchen/dining area, weight room, supply room with garage entry and a records retention area.  During 2008, an additional apparatus bay is being added to the East side of the apparatus area. This addition of another bay is needed for all of the additional apparatus that is needed to serve the rapidly growing district. 

Apparatus housed at Station #3 include:

Pumper 23, 2006 E-One Typhoon six-person cab, with 750-gallon tank, extrication tools, generator, fans and full assortment of tools and ground ladders.

Ladder 23, 1999 Sutphen, 70+-ft.mid-mount bucket/ladder, with a 500-gallon tank.  It carries an extrication tool, generator, fans, high-rise pack, and an assortment of tools and ground ladders.

Tanker 23 was purchased in 2004.  Tanker 23 carries 3,000 gallons of water, a pump, and drafting equipment. 

Car 25 responds in a 2003 Chevrolet suburban. 

Brush 23, 2001 Ford 1 ton, 4x4 pick up.  It carries 300 gallons of water and sprayer pump with reel and an assortment of hand tools.

Boat 23 is a 1998 Zodiac Mark 2 MF, 13.5 feet in length, able to carry six-persons.
