SPFPD Dispatch
All Emergency Services are dispatched from the Platte County Communication Center (PCCC), located in Platte City, Missouri. You can hear the PCCC referred to as “Dispatch” or “Platte County Dispatch” when listening to radio traffic. The PCCC provides primary, integrated communications support for 23 law enforcement, fire and EMS service agencies in Platte, Clay, Buchanan and Clinton counties. Enhanced 911 service for the Platte County portion of this service area is also managed from the PCCC. The mission of the Platte County Communications Center is to provide effective and efficient multi-discipline (law enforcement, Fire & EMS) emergency/non-emergency service and resources to the citizens within the applicable service boundaries. The PCCC is staffed by communications personnel trained in this multi-discipline approach to public service. The PCCC is located in the basement of the Tom Thomas Law Enforcement Center, 415 Third Street, Platte City, Missouri. It contains 12 radio positions plus a supervisor’s console. Consoles are dedicated to dispatching fire units assigned to the seven different fire departments and one EMS department within the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. The center is also responsible for notifying other fire departments both inside and outside the county that respond into the fire districts as a result of automatic aid and mutual aid agreements. The center, through use of the CAD system, utilizes a Motorola Paging System to dispatch units. All phone line and radio traffic in the PCCC are recorded. SPFPD has the capability of being notified of alarms and or communications through the use of: 1) portable, mobile, and base station radios, 2) land line and mobile telephones as well as 3) alphanumeric pagers.
Large incidents are “pre-alerted” (Short Tone with Incident Type and Area) giving crews the head start in response as Dispatch continues gathering information from the emergency caller prior to actual tone-out of the incident. Further information follows after tones and dispatching of the incident.
Frequencies that are available via the Live Stream are the Southern Platte Fire Protection District’s VHF Primary/Response Frequency (154.3400) and Fire Ground/Tactical Frequency (153.8300).
